The exhibition presents the Art Nouveau period on the territory of the city as Gesamtkunstwerk encompassing urban concepts, architecture and artistic decoration. It focuses in particular on the construction of the inner city circuit, on selected architectural works that best reflect the trend of the period and on the architectural detail, ornament, which in the smallest scale characterises the Art Nouveau period. The phenomena of the city circuit and ornament also frame the exhibition as abstract artistic elements made visible through 3D printing in contemporary artefacts. These paraphrase contemporary notions of the efficacy of regulatory tools in the construction of the city and the idea of the artistic uniqueness and craftsmanship of ornament into fabricated, repeatable elements of contemporary pop culture.
